‘The point was fair’, Jayden Bogle reacts to Brighton draw

Jayden Bogle was pleased with Leeds United’s performance after the Whites claimed a 1-1 draw away at Brighton & Hove Albion to remain unbeaten in the Premier League.

Jayden Bogle opened the scoring in the first half, reacting quickly inside the box to turn home an Ao Tanaka cross after Leeds United had applied sustained pressure.

The full-back admitted he wasn’t completely sure whether he had stayed onside for the goal.

“I am not going to lie, I wasn’t sure!”, Bogle said after the game.

“You can see I had a little look back to check! It was a good first half. We were brave on the ball and against the ball we were good as well.”

Leeds United created further opportunities to extend their lead, but Brighton eventually fought back after the break. Luka Vuskovic headed home from a set-piece to bring the hosts level.

The point was fair for Leeds United

Bogle felt the result was a fair reflection of the game, despite Leeds having chances to put the game beyond Brighton before the equaliser.

“So, yeah, I was impressed and we had a few more chances to go for a bigger lead but at the end of the game I think the point was fair.”

The result leaves Leeds with five points from their opening three Premier League matches, following their victory over Nottingham Forest and draws against Brentford and Brighton.

“I think it’s been a very good start to the season so it is just about taking it game by game from now until the next one.”
