Working out how to watch Leeds United should be simple, and it almost never is. Kick-off times move, broadcasters swap fixtures between them at six weeks’ notice, and the competition a game falls in changes the channel entirely. Now that the Whites are into a second successive Premier League season under Daniel Farke, here is the plain-English guide to where their matches actually turn up in the UK and abroad — and why some of them do not turn up on television at all.
How to watch Leeds United in the Premier League
Under the current UK broadcast deal, live Premier League football is split between two subscription broadcasters. Sky Sports holds by far the larger share, showing around 215 matches a season across Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League and Football. TNT Sports holds the smaller package of roughly 52 games, shown on TNT Sports 1 and 2 and streamed through discovery+.
Amazon Prime Video no longer carries Premier League football in the UK, so the December and Boxing Day rounds that used to sit there are now shared between Sky and TNT along with the rest of the season.
In practice that means a televised Leeds fixture will be on one of two platforms, and which one is confirmed when the broadcast picks for each month are announced — usually six to eight weeks in advance. That is also the point at which kick-off times move, which is why the date on your ticket and the date in your calendar are not always the same thing.
Why some Leeds games are not on TV in the UK
The reason a chunk of the season is missing from the schedules is the 3pm Saturday blackout. No live football may be broadcast in the UK between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on a Saturday, a rule that has existed in some form since the 1960s and is intended to protect attendances across the professional pyramid.
So if Leeds are playing at 3pm on a Saturday, there is no legal UK live stream of that match — not on Sky, not on TNT, not on the club’s own service. What you can get is radio commentary, and then highlights later the same day.
The blackout does not apply overseas, which is why supporters abroad can often watch fixtures that are unavailable in Yorkshire.
Cup competitions: a different set of channels
The Carabao Cup is a Sky Sports competition in the UK, with a selection of ties from each round shown live. The FA Cup is shared between the BBC and ITV, which makes it the one competition where a live Leeds match can appear on free-to-air television. Ties are picked round by round, with the selections confirmed shortly after each draw.
Watching Leeds United from outside the UK
Overseas rights are sold country by country, so there is no single answer. Broadly:
- United States: Premier League coverage sits with NBC, across NBC, USA Network and the Peacock streaming service.
- Ireland: Sky Sports and TNT Sports, with no 3pm blackout, so more games are available live than in Britain.
- Australia: Optus Sport carries the Premier League.
- Canada: Fubo holds the Premier League rights.
Rights packages change every few seasons, so it is always worth checking the Premier League’s own broadcast listings for your territory rather than assuming last season’s arrangement still holds.
LUTV, radio and highlights
The club’s own subscription service, LUTV, is the direct route for international supporters. Overseas members can stream live match coverage of fixtures not shown by a local broadcaster, while UK-based subscribers get live audio commentary rather than pictures — again, because of the domestic rights deal.

Highlights remain free-to-air. Match of the Day on BBC One and iPlayer covers every Premier League weekend, and Sky Sports publishes clips through its own app and social channels shortly after full time.
How to check a specific Leeds fixture
A quick order of operations that will settle almost any Leeds broadcast question:
- Check the competition. Premier League means Sky or TNT; Carabao Cup means Sky; FA Cup means BBC or ITV.
- Check the kick-off time. A 3pm Saturday slot means no UK live coverage at all.
- Check whether the fixture has been selected. Broadcast picks are confirmed roughly six to eight weeks out and are listed on the club’s official fixture page.
- Check for a late change. Cup progress and rearranged midweek rounds shift dates more often than anything else.
